WE ARE HIRING - Graphic Designer [Intermediate / Senior] – Branding & Web

Attention all kick-ass creative graphic designers!

At Black Owl Design [BOD], we are a small but mighty multi-discipline creative studio that has been rocking the design world for over 15 years. Our team is growing, and we are on the hunt for a talented individual to join us in 2026.

We are looking for an Intermediate to Senior Designer who loves working with clients to deliver branding, logos, websites, signage, publications, and more. You will work closely with the Director and Marketing Manager to create designs with purpose that bring brands to life.

Details

This is a role where no two days are the same. You will enjoy a collaborative environment with "creative ownership",taking projects from concept brief through to finished design.

  • Location: Mackay, QLD [Must be local or willing to relocate immediately].

  • Job Type: Flexible! We are open to Full-time, Part-time, or Casual contracts with long-term prospects.

  • Start Date: Early 2026.

What you’ll
be doing:

  • Design Variety: Working on brand design, brochures, flyers, catalogues, signage, print/online ads, and more.

  • Web Design: Creating well-designed, user-friendly websites

  • Client Management: Communicating directly with clients to build long-term relationships.

  • Project Management: Processing a significant number of jobs weekly, sticking to deadlines, and managing your own workflow.

The
Essentials:

We are looking for an all-round decent human who is hard-working, organised, and quick-thinking. To be successful, you need:

  • Experience: Minimum 2 years post-graduate professional experience.

  • Qualification: Minimum Diploma qualification in Graphic Design.

  • Tech Stack: Highly skilled in Adobe Creative Suite [InDesign, Illustrator, Photoshop, Acrobat].

  • Web Skills: Experience with Squarespace and/or Shopify is highly preferred.

  • Soft Skills: Excellent written/oral English, strong initiative, and the ability to solve problems on the fly.

  • Residency: You must be an Australian citizen/PR and currently live in [or be moving to] Mackay.
